Sweet Pepper
Our Palermo Sweet Pepper is very popular in the local market!
"PASO PERUANO"
Our Stallions "Fulo" and "Flaco" have "Peruvian & Colombian" blood genes. They can walk "Paso Peruano".
Our Horses can haul our limes and/or take kids for a ride. They can sink knee deep in mud and wade through high water levels, all with astonishing calm. The most expensive Stallion we have is "Flaco". Costed us $ 300. SHOW HORSES can cost well over $ 10,000. Maybe we should take "Flaco", "Fulo" and "Muchacho" out of "farming" and train them for HORSE SHOWS..... See what Farm Horses are capable of.... Tilapia Fish
Our TILAPIA Fish found a new Home at our "Mud Pond", created by using its dirt for our Earthbag & Adobe buildings.

LandTrees Farming:
In the local Panamanian Fresh Fruit Market they call us "The Horse Lime Pickers" in reference that our Lime Plantation is situated in a remote Rain Forest area filled with natural beauty and fauna. Access to our Lime Plantation is only possible by foot, horse, tractor or 4x4 vehicle. We supposedly transport our Persian Limes after harvesting with the help of horses. Transporting agriculture products over hills, dirt roads, mud paths or across river beds for ongoing 4x4 transportation is still practised by many Farmers in remote areas here in Panama. Our Farm in the Capira Region is situated within the Panama Canal Sensitive Zone. We are surrounded by the most important Rivers, "Rio Trinidad" and "Rio Cacao". These rivers provide precious water required for the operation of the Panama Canal.
Due to the environmental importance of this Region the Panama Canal Authority ACP implemented the SUSTAINABLE FOREST COVER ESTABLISHMENT PROJECT. This ACP-Project carries out many activities. They help the local population to engage in sustainable farming. The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) is funding incentive programs to promote forest restoration, forest and biodiversity conservation, as well as silvo-pastoral and agro-forestry systems. These are systems you will also see implemented at our Farm. You will find a thriving natural Rain Forest Region, rich in beauty and greenery, an area identified as one of the important "Canal Water Suppliers".

This design is available on the internet under "Barril Ponics by Travis Hughey". We consider the system a good step to learn the basics of Aquaponics & it has room for expansion.
